An individual off the street with a personal identity. Waiting for a train, next to another. They step onto the train. Together, these individuals gain a temporary identity - a commuter. The same way, the same track in the same carriage. They arrive, leaving the commuter behind.

East to west, from one horizon to the next. The same sequence on different days. Light through vision, light through sensation. Light floods the space around them. Light gains a temporary identity entering as visible but leaving as invisible. Leaving as The Sound of Light. The ever changing yet consistent sounds from the sun of Port Adelaide.

Through sun lit spaces, and the movement of shadow created by structure, The Sound of Light converts the sun on walls to an ambience of sound through the use of photo transistors with inspiration from the original film soundtrack process. The Sound of Light proposes questions about the way we see and what we hear. The identity through seeing and the consistent patterns of life. What if we were to listen the same way we see?
